About Us
Founded and run by Dawn Payne an ex-professional ballet dancer, The Dawn Payne Academy of Dance offers professional dance classes for children and adults at various locations throughout the Dengie peninsula. Accredited as a fellow of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (the highest teaching qualification awarded), Dawn has the skill and experience to offer dance tuition in a variety of genres. Having taught throughout Essex for over 25 years, Dawn has had many pupils go on to study at full time dance colleges such as Stella Mann and Laines Ballet School; ultimately leading them on to careers as professional dancers or teachers.
Our Classes
At the Academy all ages and abilities are catered for (children are accepted from three years old, upwards) and emphasis is put on teaching pupils the joy of dance whilst also covering the discipline and technical requirements. Whether you are taking your first steps on the dance floor, are an experienced dancer or, are just wanting to improve – an appropriate level of tuition can be offered to suite your needs. Pupils are able to experience a wide range of dance – from Cecchetti Ballet and Street Jazz to Modern and Tap dancing; you can enjoy yourself and at the same time be helped to develop new skills. Pupils also continue on to universities to study dance and performing arts.
